Off With Their Heads

I once read this in a book titled Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I think everyone who's seen the movie or read the book knows what I mean by this phrase. However, while reading this, it inspired me to create a poem. The poem is probably not as good, however, I must admit I liked how it turned out. The line from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was , "The executioner's argument was, that you couldn't cut off a head unless there was a body to cut it from[...] (Carroll 99). Now, it sounds bizarre and uncomfortably strange; but that is where my strange mind came to play. You can't cut off a head unless there is a body attach to it. Well, duh! All of us have a head and a body! So, what was the point of this? Honestly, I don't know, but it inspired me to set a new interpretation.
We all have heads (and bodies too!) So, how can we use them to create something that can make a difference, a change? I believe that it starts with an idea, then we must do to enforce it. Thinking is good, however, doing is much better. I think, this is the point why I write because all my ideas are on paper, and trust me, I, too am working on doing. Why is it easy expressing our opinion by saying it, but difficult expressing it by doing it? This is how I fell in love with the quote from Lewis Carroll.
Here's my poem titled "Off With their Heads." Trust me, the ending is not as depressing as it sounds!
Off With their Heads
Off with their heads,
If they try to use their heads.
If they stop talking,
Cut their tongues so they have something to talk about.
If one has a pretty face,
Protect them from the hands of vain.
Never put salt in their eyes
Because tears can wipe their pretty makeup into tides.
Off with their heads,
If the crown of thorns fit properly on her own.
If one has a pretty face,
Kill them with the blood of Cain.
But if they stop talking
You fool! It’s too late.
Someone already has cut off the head
And took the body too!
